Bákayan Debuts on Stil vor Talent with Three-Track ‘Fireflies’ Release

Following the critically acclaimed release of his three-part ‘Neowl’ EP (alongside Grooveshack) on Elif’s Marginalia imprint back in December, German-born, Turkish producer and vocalist Bákayan now looks to grab 2024 by the horns as he lands on esteemed German imprint Stil vor Talent for his latest debut transmission, ‘Fireflies’.

Exponent of a sound both entrancingly deep and straight out dynamic, the in-demand, Berlin-based artist has been honing his skills putting out nostalgia-soaked material designed for both the dance floor and daydreaming in equal measure. This new delivery serves up everything that Bákayan is about, and is the perfect mix of contemplative escapology. The mystique-shrouded title-track, inspired by the sight of fireflies in the mountains of Turkey, and no-nonsense club attributes make his cuts the perfect companions for peak-time rides and more intimate, after-ready setups.

Presented in both OG and edit versions (the latter featuring Ibiza-based artist Safar) – and with vocals from Bákayan himself –– ‘Breathe’ encapsulates the transporting flavours of spiritual journeys across the Bosphorus and big room-focussed traction to whip up any crowd into sheer euphoria. ‘Fireflies’, on the other hand, operates as more of a pop-tinged, breaks-heavy weapon all set at driving herds of ravers to climactic emotional heights.

Speaking about his Stil vor Talent debut, Bákayan commented:

“From the outset, these tracks were crafted with Stil vor Talent in mind — a label that I’ve held in high regard since the inception of my electronic music journey in 2018. I am a huge fan of Oliver Koletzki, whose musical prowess and fervor have been a profound source of inspiration for me. My goal was to grasp the essence of the Stil vor Talent family and I’m super excited to finally share this release with the world”.
