Ghosts in the Machine: I’MMORTAL Meets Das Mörtal in a Perfectly “Uncanny” Collision

There’s a specific thrill when a remix feels inevitable—as if the original track had been hiding its other self. Das Mörtal’s reimagining of I’MMORTAL’s “Uncanny Valley”, out October 31, 2025 on Immortality, is that mirror version: darker, heavier, ruthlessly elegant. It honors the original’s camp-sci-fi flair—glitch vocals, trap prickle—then reroutes it into a nocturnal motorway where the lines blur and the chrome grins back.

Textures do the storytelling. A low synth purrs like engine idle; high oscillations smear into the frame like neon in rain. The percussion flicks without ever chattering; negative space carries as much drama as the hits. When the central motif blooms, it’s less riff than apparition—an afterimage that lingers each time the lights cut. Das Mörtal doesn’t chase shock; he builds inevitability. The drop lands not as a jump-scare but as gravity asserting itself.

The short film that accompanies it is equally precise: a stage drenched in cool blues against a hostile red, towering pleasers, mirrored bodies, surveillance screens, and a clay-slick metamorph that pushes the title’s thesis from theory to flesh. Career arcs converge here. Das Mörtal—with festival mileage and nods from KALTBLUT, METAL, YourEDM, Run The Trap—has refined a signature where Darksynth touches techno architecture. I’MMORTAL, the New York/London provocateur, wields visual instinct and orchestral bones from a violinist past; her voice, fragmented into data, still cuts. Together, they co-sign a statement: the valley isn’t a glitch—it’s the venue.
