Rework Deliver Three Distinct Club Versions of “Disco Love”
Released through Exlove Records, Disco Love Remixes EP finds Rework working with Jennifer Touch and Neu-Romancer on a compact package designed for different stages of the night.
The original Rework edit establishes the record’s foundation through a persistent bass pulse, restrained cold-wave textures and a groove that remains tense without becoming static. Its retro Playhouse character gives the production a stripped-back, slightly off-centre quality, connecting dark disco with the economical mechanics of early minimal house and techno.
The Jennifer Touch Remix introduces a heavier emotional presence. Its arrangement keeps the track’s seductive undertow intact while placing more emphasis on dark-wave atmosphere and physical club energy. The result feels forceful without becoming blunt, making it suitable for sets moving between post-punk electronics, EBM and techno.
Neu-Romancer delivers the EP’s most rhythmically assertive version. Bouncing movement and hypnotic repetition push the remix towards peak-time territory, while cinematic elements prevent the structure from feeling purely functional. It is direct enough for a warehouse system but detailed enough to reward closer listening.
Across its three tracks, the release remains focused and efficient. Each version respects the identity of the source material while changing its balance of tension, emotion and momentum.
