Hard to Tell Returns to Innervisions with ‘Last Forever’

The Captivating New Single is Out Now as Part of Innervisions’ Secret Weapons Part 16 VA Compilation

It’s been a highly fruitful year in the studio for Hard To Tell. Boasting a string of critically acclaimed releases on the likes of Innervisions, Sum Over Histories, Siamese and TAU, the in-demand duo now looks to conclude 2023 in style, as they return to Dixon & Âme’s fabled Innervisions imprint with their incredible new single ‘Last Forever’.

Out now as part of Innervisions’ Secret Weapons Part 16 VA compilation, ‘Last Forever’ marks the two-man outfit’s sophomore release on the iconic Berlin-based imprint, following the much lauded release of their hit single ‘Area 88’ back in March 2023.

Already a staple in the touring playlists of some of the biggest DJs in the world, ‘Last Forever’ is trademark Hard To Tell. Toying with texture and tonality across the cut, the single honours the raw, emotive candour for which the duo have become famed over the past couple of years, as they unravel an intricate, yet powerful web of analog instrumentation, trippy vocal samples and dynamic production techniques across the record’s six-minute run time.

Speaking about their return to Innervisions, Hard To Tell commented:

“We’re super excited to be back on Innervisions with our brand new track ‘Last Forever’ and we really appreciate all the support we’ve had so far from the Steffen, Kristian, Frank and the rest of the team. The reactions we’ve had from fans and the love we’ve had from fellow artists has been amazing and something we’re very grateful for. We’ll be finishing the year with our new Love Pedal EP on TAU on December 8, so stay tuned for that!”

Surefire providers of hypnotic grooves and deep, dynamic soundscapes, Hard To Tell – or Roy & Roi as they’re otherwise known – certainly know how to bring the heat. Conjuring up elements from all cultures and eras (from Detroit techno and house to cold/new wave, via breakbeat and electroid dynamics) the pair syncs with the flow of the moment and amplifies its grip on the listener’s soul with every bar. Drawn to immersive club narratives that think outside the box and challenge the status quo, their compositions span the fringe between muscular functionality and hedonistic suavity, nimbly moving the cursor from oneiric etherealness to heavy-duty, steel-clad punch.

Following the release of ‘Last Forever’, Hard To Tell will drop their final piece of studio output in 2023, as they land on Adana Twins’ TAU imprint with their three-track ‘Love Pedal’ EP – due on Friday, December 8.
